To the author of “Struggle”,

I have come across many friends, from all walks of life and different background. Yet none of them was like you. You appreciate me more than the others do and encourage me like no others. But I know that you need encouragement, too, you’re human, I know, and human feel discouraged.

Remember that the time when you were in form 4, you entered pure science class without your form 3 classmates? You were among the best. And the people who disliked you did not reach achievement like yours. There’s no reason to look down yourself. Anybody can succeed. Of course, we have limitations, too. The limitations can be our weaknesses. But that doesn’t stop us from aiming at our goal. By realizing our own weaknesses, we learn how to accept ourselves for who we are, and overcome our weaknesses. Note that accepting ourselves doesn’t mean to do NOTHING to improve ourselves.

But I am sure that I don’t have to tell you all these because you already know. You are the kind of women who are the like pearls in the oysters, which are hard to find, because not every oyster shell contains pearl. I really like the innocent way you live. I really hope that you can remain like this forever, not being polluted by the desires of this cruel and materialistic modern society. But as for me, I think I have lost my innocence, and there’s no way to reverse it anymore.

There’s still something important I need to tell you. I am just like you. I am not that successful, I am just an ordinary person, struggling. But at least we are struggling, not wasting our time as if there’s nothing for us to do. You said that our paths are different, yet our goals are the same. Yes, it is. But whatever it is, that will never be an obstacles to our friendship.

Just try your best in everything you do. And the same goes with me. One day, I’ll hope to see my successful friend welcomed and remembered by everyone. All the best in everything you do.
